Scale softener chemicals are used to prevent or delay the formation of scale in water systems. They can be used in drinking water treatment, cooling water systems, and more.

How they work
  • Threshold inhibitors: Increase the amount of scale ions that can be maintained in solution
  • Crystal growth modification polymers: Change the shape of scale formation, making it less stable
  • Dispersants: Change the attractive forces between scale particles
  • Antiscalants chemicals: Prevent scale formation by absorbing onto the surface of scale crystals
How they are applied
  • Small concentrations of scale softener chemicals are added to water
  • The chemicals can be added continuously to feedwater before membrane systems
  • The dosage of chemicals depends on the water chemistry and system conditions
Benefits
  • Scale softener chemicals can prevent scale from depositing on surfaces
  • They can reduce the need for mechanical removal methods
  • They can improve cleaning efficiency

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a strong liquid made by mixing hydrogen and chlorine gases together through a process called electrolysis. It's also known as HCL, muriatic acid, or spirits of salt. It is an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride. This acid is clear and has a sharp smell. It's really powerful and can be harmful if it touches your skin, eyes, or if you breathe it in.

It is a colourless solution with a strong, unpleasant odour. Hydrochloric acid has a large range of applications and is one of the largest consumed acids in the world.

HCl is highly corrosive, and it can damage the body when it comes into contact with it. It reacts with metals and can even produce explosive hydrogen gas.

Industries use hydrochloric acid a lot, especially in making steel and PVC. You can also find it in household cleaners, pool maintenance products, and food production. It's even used to make polyurethane foam and calcium chloride.

Rodine 213 SF is a NPE free (nonyl-phenol free) mildly acidic blend of proprietary corrosion inhibitor and glycol-ether based coupling agents with less than 1% Propargyl alcohol and surfactant. RODINE 213 SF is designed to inhibit the attack of hydrochloric acid on iron and steel during industrial cleaning and acid pickling operations. It is much low on toxicity yet very effective in corrosion inhibition properties with above 99% inhibition on most of the ferrous metals.

Key Features and Benefits:
  • Modifies metal surface to prevent corrosion
  • Easy to use
  • Excellent wetting properties for better cleaning
  • NPE free, low-toxicity
  • Reduces metal loss
  • Enriches strength of pickling acid bath, and reduces acid consumption
  • Cost effective
Application and Dosage:
  • RODINE 213 SF is a concentrated product and is used at various dosage rates depending upon the operating temperature.
  • In acid pickling application: For every 1000ltrs of diluted hydrochloric acid at 5-20% w/w add 1 to 6kgs of RODINE 213 SF depending upon the temperature and concentration of acid.
  • In acid cleaning application: Add 1-2kgs of RODINE 213 SF for every 100kgs of concentrated industrial grade HCL (33-37%), depending upon the operational temperature.
